Funeral services for William F Smith Jr, fondly known as Bill or PaPa, will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:30 am, in the New Life Baptist Church, with Pastor Ronnie Harris officiating and burial following in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Bill passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. He was born April 30, 1932, in Quapah, Oklahoma, the son of William F. Smith Sr. and Mattie Pearl (McKibben) Smith. Bill married the love of his life, Barbara Jo Masters, on November 1, 1958, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They were married for 63 years. He served in the US Army. Bill worked as a Supervisor on a Crude Oil Unit for Sun Oil. He enjoyed his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, being active in all their sports and events. In addition, he was a car enthusiast, loved NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, the Arkansas Razorbacks, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Bill had a passion for cars and was the proud owner of "50SEVEN" which was his 1957 Chevy Bel-Air, two door, hard-top that was a gift from Barbara for their 30th wedding anniversary that he restored and showed at car shows around the Country. He was a member of the Classic Chevy Club of Oklahoma.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara Jo Smith of the home; daughter and son-in-law: Dava and Archie Baldridge of Claremore, OK; daughter-in-law: Tammy Smith of Claremore, OK; grandchildren: Kara and Brandon Rowe of Claremore, Tara and Monty West of Chouteau, OK, Jo Johnson of Claremore, OK, Eric Smith of Bentonville, AR, Cameron Smith and finance' Ashley Isenbart of Edmond, OK; great-grandchildren: Bella West, Connor Rowe, Remi West, Ellie West, Dakota Johnson, Reagan Johnson, Lane Rowe, Tanner Rowe, and Colt West; sister: Ruth McConnell of Perkins, SC; brother: James Harvey Smith of Quapah, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends including his Whataburger family.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his son: Kerry Wayne Smith; sisters: Mary Lou Smith, Virginia Lawson, and Alma Blair.
