Wayne F. Coffee

November 7, 1954 ~ September 19, 2020 (age 65)

Wayne F. Coffee, 65, of Claremore, Oklahoma died on September 19 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Borger, Texas on November 7, 1954 to Wade and Hazel Coffee. He married his soulmate, Margaret, in July 1975, and they shared 45 wonderful years together. Wayne graduated from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma in July 1979 with a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy. After college, he went to work for Production Credit Association in Muskogee. His career with Farm Credit Services spanned 32 years; he retired as the Vice President/Branch Manager at the Farm Credit Services office in Stillwater. Wayne and Margaret moved to Elgin, Oklahoma in 2012. Wayne worked in Business Industry Services at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center in Ft. Cobb for 9 years. Wayne and Margaret both retired in July 2020 and moved to Claremore, Oklahoma to be near to their daughter, Jessica Coffee, their son, Justin Coffee, their daughter-in-law Amanda, and their three beautiful granddaughters, Kayla 7, Lydia 5, and Maya 2.
Wayne loved fishing, hiking, traveling, gardening, and tinkering in his shop. He especially loved helping others. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years; one of his proudest moments was seeing Justin become an Eagle Scout. He was also very proud that he passed on his excellent math abilities to Jessica who is now an accountant. Wayne also volunteered his time coaching the Binger-Oney FFA Farm Business Management Team for six years. He took 3 of the teams to the National Championships winning the team silver medal all 3 times, as well as 3 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal in individual placements. Wayne never asked for anything in return; he only asked that at some time in their lives, the youth that he worked with would pay it forward.
Wayne was a people person, and everyone loved him. He was often known as a practical joker. He loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Wayne loved celebrating the holidays and being around family. He would begin listening to Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music beginning in early October in anticipation of the Christmas holidays. He enjoyed decorating for Halloween and Christmas- it was a decoration explosion!
He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He especially loved his three granddaughters who were the light of his life!
