In loving memory: Virginia Lee Martin-Nelson, age 67, passed from this life peacefully in her home in Claremore, Oklahoma, on Friday, May 1, 2020, comforted by loved ones.
Ginger, as most knew her, was born in Kellogg, Idaho, on March 14, 1953, and was predeceased by her son: Gregory Steven Nelson, her brother: Bradley Martin, and her birth parents: Earl Dean Ketten and Virginia Lee Herlin-Martin. Ginger spent her years growing up in Northern Idaho, where she met the love of her life James Edwin Nelson. They were wed on August 29, 1970, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
Ginger was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by all without measure. She touched the hearts of everyone she came into contact with. Her smile was so bright you couldn't help but smile along with her. Her eyes twinkled with the brilliant light of a pure soul. Her laugh was completely infectious. When she wrapped her arms around you for a big hug, her love penetrated you to your core leaving you feeling blessed to be in her life. She was a beautiful woman inside and out.
We thank her for teaching us to wear our hearts on our sleeves and to live our lives to the fullest, regardless of the obstacles and challenges that we all must sometimes face. Her perspective was that there is beauty in everything, if you pause to recognize it. She shared her talents freely and willingly, teaching many to appreciate art, creativity and the love for the gifts that God has bestowed upon all of his children. Ginger's compassionate heart saw beauty reflected in every flower, tree, and growing thing.
Ginger's light will continue to shine brightly through each and every person that has ever had the privilege to know her; As to know her was to love her. Hug someone, encourage someone, plant some flowers, paint a picture, be grateful to the people that make you happy and most importantly laugh and enjoy this life and all it has to offer. Rest in peace dear one, as you are one of God's angels now and we are all comforted knowing that you are watching over us all!
