Thomas Morris Kelly, 92, died peacefully October 3rd in Claremore Skilled Nursing Home.
Morris was born July 29, 1929 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Thomas and Olga Kelly. Morris graduated from Broken Arrow high school in 1947. After graduation, the family relocated to Madisonville, Kentucky. Morris joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Aucilla. After 4 years in the Navy he returned to Kentucky and started working for Sinclair Coal Company which later became Peabody Coal Company where he worked in the lab testing coal samples. He married Martha Collignon on October 18,1958. In 1964, their son Thomas Michael Kelly was born. After retiring from Peabody Coal Company in 1988, he and Martha relocated to Claremore, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Morris enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Morris was a longtime member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, his sisters Rose Mary Condon, Kathyrn Dossett and his parents. He is survived by his son Mike, daughter- in -law Christine, his sister Regina Kelly and many nieces and nephews all of whom loved him dearly.
