Terry George Brown

April 17, 1943 ~ August 31, 2019 (age 76)


Terry George Brown, age 76, of Claremore, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2019.  He was born on April 17, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois.

Terry graduated from Reavis Community High School in Burbank, Illinois, in 1961 and went on to graduate from Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering Technology in 1972.  His career included 20+ years at International Harvester, as well as 20+ years at Rockwell/Boeing International in the aerospace industry.  Over the years, Terry enjoyed the hobbies of horseback riding and country western dancing.  He also loved playing golf with his buddies. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Corn Brown, his parents, Leo P. Brown and Jeanne L. Brown-Grizzle, and his step-father, William C. Grizzle, along with his brother, Michael R. Brown.

Terry is survived by his son, Alan Terry Brown, and wife, Margie, and his one granddaughter, Maria, whom he adored, of Jefferson City, Missouri; his brother, Dennis L. Brown, and wife, Billie Jo, of Middleburg, Florida; his sister, Kathleen Vale, and husband, Gil, of Sevierville, Tennessee; and his sister-in-law, Patricia A. Brown of New Lennox, IL.  As an uncle, he played a special role in the lives of his numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was known as a true friend, and he will be greatly missed.  A memorial service was held with family and friends in Claremore, Oklahoma.  He loved all animals, big and small, and was a contributor to The Humane Society of the United States.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of the United States in Terry’s name.
