Teddy Lee Applegate, 82, of Inola, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on September 23, 2020. Ted was born on July 25, 1938 to Elmer Lee and Georgia (Dotson) Applegate in Inola, Oklahoma. He spent 30 years loving his wife Charlene.
Ted spent his entire life working as a farmer and rancher. He took odd jobs as needed to support his family, which was his highest priority. He was a true cowboy, never leaving the house without his cowboy hat and boots. He loved fishing with his wife, Charlene, all the grandchildren, and his brothers. He enjoyed gardening and grew the best watermelon and cantaloupe in the county! For having a 5th grade education, he was a man full of wisdom. People would call him with questions on every subject and he would always have an answer. He absolutely loved holidays with the house jam-packed full, with his family all around him. He was a captivating storyteller. He could make everyone laugh with stories they had heard hundreds of times before. At a young age, he taught himself to play the guitar and he loved to sing. He was the original animal whisperer! He was a patriotic American and he passed this love of his country on to his children.
He is survived by his wife Charlene; daughter, LaRaina Payton & husband, Eddie; son, Teddy LeRoy & girlfriend, Staci; Son Merl & wife, Leah; daughter, Angie & husband, Brian; stepdaughter Joyce; stepson, Earl & wife, Connie; stepdaughter, Lisa & husband, Terry; and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Brewer & husband, Art; Bernice Borja & husband, Louie (deceased); brothers, Clifford & wife, Joan; Carroll & wife, Marcia; Jay & wife, Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; Charlie, Junior, Leo, and Bobby; his son Earl, and grandson, Adam.
He made others wealthy with his love, wisdom, and hardworking hands.
