Sue Ellen Wieden died on April 6, 2023, in Claremore following a year-long battle with cancer.
Sue was born on January 4, 1953, in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was the third child and only daughter of Glen and Mildred Standlee. She and her parents lived in Elk City until 1965 when they moved to Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Enid High in the spring of 1971, and married Jim Wieden on November 18, 1972. Together they had three children and were married for 34 years. The family moved to Claremore, Oklahoma in the fall of 1991. She made Claremore her home for over 30 years. She worked for much of that time as the office manger for a local physicians’ office. Following the death of her husband, Sue met Pat Clancy with whom she built a loving 15-year relationship. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren and her pets.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerry and Dan Standlee, her husband Jim Wieden, and her partner Pat Clancy.
Left behind to cherish the memory of Sue are her three children and their families: Katy and Craig Scott of Owasso, Oklahoma; Jody and Lance Phillips of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mark and Missy Wieden of Springdale, Arkansas; and her 3 grandchildren: Kennedy Wieden, Nathaniel and Madeleine Phillips.
