Sherry Lou Wimberly

November 21, 1953 ~ December 18, 2021 (age 68)

      Sherry’s Story

Sherry Lou Wimberly, age 68, passed away peacefully Saturday December 18, 2021, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born November 21, 1953, the baby of 3 children born to Al & Betty Sue Schmitt in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
As a young girl, they left Oklahoma City to enjoy the ‘lake and country’ life and settled in Port Ketchum, Oklahoma. This is where her love for horses began and never ended. Sherry became a young mother, in which she was fiercely devoted and protective and worked hard to earn her High School Diploma to graduate from Ketchum High in 1972.
After completing high school, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she began her career in insurance. Her love of the country life and horses was always calling her name, so she moved to Claremore where she called home for many years. In 1990, Sherry met the love of her life, Dickie Wimberly, who she married July 17, 1992. Together side by side, they built a wonderful life together on the farm in Chelsea, Oklahoma they loved so much. A life filled with family, friends, dogs, cats, horses, and birds. A perfect life for Sherry and her little piece of Heaven on Earth.
Sherry truly loved life-enjoying all the simple pleasures such as birdwatching, snacking on chocolate, being the best mom to her fur babies and chatting with friends and family. She was a strong and loving mother who always had the right answers and gave the best advice.
Sherry had many gifts and talents, but painting animals was her niche. She had an amazing ability to capture the ‘soul of the eye’ on every paining she did.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Dickie Wimberly, Stephany McFadin, her one and only loving daughter, Jack Lowery, grandson, Susan Schmitt, sister, Roger Schmitt, brother and June Wimberly, mother-in-law.
Sherry left this earth to join our Heavenly Father, her loving mama and all her fur babies on December 18th 2021.
