Robert (Bob) Wayne Hemphill was born on September 30th, 1951 in Coffeyville, Kansas. Bob grew up in Galveston, Texas and later moved to Oologah, OK where he graduated from Oologah High School class of 1972. After high school Bob joined the Army and was stationed in Germany until 1974. Bob met Claudia A. Hemphill and married her on July 10, 1980.
Returning from the Army, Bob worked at Bayou Steel in the Port of Catoosa. He enjoyed doing numerous activities with his family and spending time with all his grandkids. Activities including fishing, bowling, softball, and going to the Claremore Senior Citizens Center with his brother. Bob loved to collect baseball and football cards and cheering for his team, the OSU Cowboys. Bob would always take Claudia shopping but would never go inside. He would just wait in the truck for her.
Bob passed away Saturday evening, March 6th, 2021 in Muskogee. He was 69 years old.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Claudia Hemphill, mother; Betty Robards Shelton, sister Peggy Wilson, brother; Gary Hemphill, father and mother-in-law; Raymond and Marcella Tah, sister-in-law; Peggy Lorraine Downing and bro-in-law; Dudknee Tah.
Surviving family members include Heather Ball and husband Jim, Steve “J.R.” Lockler, Robert Hemphill and Ray Hemphill, grandchildren; Joshua, Lori, Marty, Jaci, brothers; Charlie Hemphill and wife Rita, Bill Hemphill and wife Jackie, brother-in-law; Duke Tah and Doug Tah, sister-in-law; Majel Steele, Amanda McCombs, Hedy and bro-in-law Daryl Jenkins as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
