Obituary
Richard Waymond Moore, age 75, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Friday, December 30, 2022, with family at his side.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Wofford Cemetery in Catoosa, Oklahoma at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Wes Holland officiating.
Richard was born to Willie Raymond Moore II and Orilla Gonzales Moore on June 24, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He joined the Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam.
There were two versions of Richard, the serious side and the jokester. He loved his family very much and he loved being with them. In his later year, being around his family was his favorite thing. He enjoyed making Chili Verde from scratch, even roasting his own peppers, especially for birthdays.
He would spend his free time with family, watching old black and white movies, fishing, going to the casino to “destress”, and going on car rides. He was known for having a handprint of his grandson Braydan on his truck that he refused to clean off. It was on the truck until the day he sold it. There are many memories of fishing with grandchildren, passing down of family fishing poles, including an old blue Shakespeare pole and restringing the line so it wouldn’t break, and daily trips to McDonalds.
Left behind to honor them memory of Richard are his brothers, Gilbert Moore, Sr., Reuben Fernandez, Leonard Fernandez, Michael Fernandez, and Tony Fernandez; sisters, Lisa Fernandez, Dorothy Fernandez, Angie Fernandez, and Vicki Moore; sons, Rich Moore, and Bobby Moore; daughters, Dana Getzfreid and husband Jerod, and Regina Fowler; grandchildren Courtney, Zack Moore, Dylan Martin, Dekota Getzfreid, Allie “Alison” Stone, Jade Harrod, Brianna “Hazel” Patterson, Braydan “Little Man’ Cravens, Willie Moore, and Sierra Reburn; 5 great children; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Orilla Moore, Sr.; wife, Jenne Moore; brothers, Willie Moore, Patrick Fernandez, Billy Moore, and Reyes Fernandez; and daughter, Sara Moore.
