Richard Cagle

April 12, 1963 ~ March 19, 2022 (age 58)

Richard (Rick) Ralph Cagle was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on April 12th, 1963, to Ralph and Norma Cagle. Rick passed unexpectedly March 19, 2022. He was 58 years old.

Rick spent much of his childhood with his family on 40 acres in Sequoyah, OK. Rick’s mom and dad led the family in a busy farm life of which Rick was extremely proud. Along with attending Sequoyah High School, where he graduated in 1981, Rick spent his teenage years, working alongside his dad and brother, tending wheat fields, hauling hay, and cutting and selling wood.

During that same time, he honed a skill that many will remember him for, playing guitar. One of Rick’s greatest joys was playing guitar with his dad while family sang along. As he went through adulthood, whenever a group of family or friends gathered, it was common that someone would ask him to play. And when he became a dad, Rick spent many nights soothing his infant sons to sleep with nameless melodies created just for them. Beautiful memories of time spent with Rick and the gift of his music will be cherished by all.

Another life-long pursuit and talent was Rick’s interest in electronics and computers. Under the watchful eyes of his two young sons, Ricky Lee and Ryan, he taught himself how to build and maintain computers. Rick made a second career as an IT professional for Northeast Electric Co-Op, where he retired in 2019, after 15 years.

Rick spent his 20’s and much of his 30’s in Claremore, OK where he married Bonnie Lee and had three wonderful sons. Before working as a plant operator for Terra Nitrogen for 10 years, he worked at Rockwell on the B1B Bomber, then in California at Northrop working on the Stealth Bomber. Rick and the boys always enjoyed attending airshows where these planes were on display.

In 2001 Rick bought 30 acres with an old farmhouse in Big Cabin, OK. Rick loved his home in Big Cabin. The last several years he spent there with his wife, Eva Cantrell, and his grown sons and their families coming out to visit and enjoy the sanctuary they created were some of the happiest times of his life.

He is survived by a loving family: his wife, Eva of Big Cabin, son Richard Lee Cagle, his wife Kendra, and their son, August of Claremore, son Ryan Cagle, his wife Jamie and their son, Nathan, of Owasso, his son Dustin of Owasso. He is also survived by his mother Norma Cagle, brother Danny Cagle and his wife, Michelle, sister Julie Dainty and her husband, Tim, sister Cindy Fager, brother Casey, sister Carie and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Edgar Cagle, as well as by other precious family and friends.

Rick will be remembered as a kind man who was always there for anyone who needed him.
A soft-spoken man, but one whose words were worth hearing.
A loving husband
A devoted father
A loyal friend
A talented, gifted human being.
