Obituary

Martin Lee Straub, age 86, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

Services will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore, OK with Bryce Collins officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Martin was born on November 30, 1935, to Leonard and Ruby Straub. He graduated from Labette County High School. He graduated from Coffeyville Junior College in Coffeyville, Kansas, and later from Tulsa University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He married his high school sweetheart, Lucille Rosemary Jack. They adopted their oldest son Mike in 1967 and then adopted their son Chris in 1969.

Martin loved to work on cars. He enjoyed wood carving and painting. He farmed 40 acres, raising almost every farm animal at one time or another, but he really liked his pigs.

Martin is survived by his sons Chris and wife Almira Straub, and Mike and wife Rachel Straub; sisters Betty Frogly, Jeanina Little, and Becky and Sam Oakleaf; brothers-in-law Bob Jack, Wendell Jack, Bill Jack, Donnie Jack; sister-in-law Connie and Dwayne Plowman; grandchildren Moriah Straub, McKenzie Straub, Grace Anne Straub and Isla Straub. Martin will be missed by all that knew him.
