“ Reflection of Life”
Larry Dean Harlin

On Wednesday, May 19, 2021 the Heavenly gates opened for beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend Larry Dean Harlin and he received his wings at 6:52 p.m. in his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was born on December 22, 1946 in Claremore, Oklahoma to the late Levi Harlin Sr. and Nolan Vann Harlin.
Larry attended Claremore Public Schools and graduated from the Oklahoma Military Academy. He attended Northeastern State University and later graduated from Langston University in 1996.
He accepted Christ into his life at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma under the leadership of Pastor Drew and Pastor Potter.
He served his country three years with distinction in the United States Air Force from 1967-1970.
Larry was employed at McDonnell Douglas in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1976-1994. He later was employed with American Airlines in 1996 and also retired from American Airlines in December 2012.
Larry was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Carole Fitzpatrick on March 12, 1982.
One of Larry’s greatest treasures was his family. His family has used these words to describe him; Very compassionate, caring, loving, protective, unique. Artistic and poetic, fearless, great listener, well-rounded, gave great advice and always willing to help. His favorite saying was “Be for Real” and this is exactly how he chose to live his life, being for real.
“One of our dad’s greatest accomplishments was being a father. We will always consider him our “Super Hero.” He was always there through our ups and downs. He taught us to live gracefully, love passionately, and to enjoy every moment that life has to offer.”
Larry was preceded in death by his oldest brother Levi Harlin Jr., and his darling sweet great-grand daughter Madisyn.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his life: Wife, Brenda Harlin; Three daughters, Kimberly Harris (Michael), Sherrill Harlin (Calvin), and Ashley Harlin; Two sisters, Joyce Johnson (Stanley), and Carol Harlin.
Grand Children – Darien, Kayla, Terrance, Jamia, Julien, Keona, Devon, Naponica, Zae, Calvin Jr.(CJ), Trevion, and Kaiden.
Great Grand Children – Ariyon, Aveah
And a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
