Keith Lane Jones (Buzzy), age 74, passed away, peacefully, at home, on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Keith was born to Keith Neal and Mildred Ellis Jones on September 20, 1946, in Oklahoma City.
Keith starting working at one of the family Jones Boys Grocery and Markets, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 9. He enjoyed baseball, cub scouts, and being with his friends. He took dance lessons that later served him well because he was remembered as a great dancer.
He met the love of his life, Barbara, in 1963. They were married a little over a year later. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in 2021.
He enlisted and served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a Sonarman on the USS Myles C. Fox. He served the country he loved for 12 years.
Throughout the years his family moved from coast to coast where he worked at multiple technology companies… eventually starting his own. Then, in 1983, Keith and Barbara decided to move back to Oklahoma so they could be closer to their families.
Both Keith and Barbara worked at the Chandler Wal-Mart for a number of years until they both retired.
Keith was a kid at heart. Playing hide ‘n seek, kick the can and freeze tag with his children and all the rest of the neighborhood kids. He loved animals. It was evident in the number of stray dogs, cats, birds, squirrels and anything else that needed help and wandered into his orbit. He took them all in. He mentioned that, had his life been different, he would have enjoyed being a veterinarian. Later in life he really enjoyed spending time playing dominoes and cribbage with his children... and winning!
Keith is predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Keddy Kay and Susie. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his two children, David and Danna, his three grandchildren, Geran, Brittany and Cassie, and his two brothers, K. Roy and Ralph Kristin Jones.
