Janet Pearla Trett was born on August 1, 1940 in Wilmington, Delaware to parents William and Josephine (Bert) Stone.
Her children and grandchildren will remember her as being one tough cookie and never giving up.
In their own words, three of Janet's children have this to say about their mother:
"Mom was an amazing woman. She always had everything together! She was a strong independent woman who loved adventures, her children, grand children, great grand children, her friends and Jesus! She has taught me to be strong! We had some of the most amazing adventures and I will never forget her joyful, funny personality. She had a huge heart and always brought gifts back from everywhere she traveled. She loved her job at the hospital and spent her time at home taking care of her birds, feeding them. She loved her flower gardens too. She was always moving and doing. She was loved so much by so many. She will forever hold a piece of my heart.
My mother was a great person. She took very good care of her children no matter how hard she had to work to make us happy or get us what we needed. She was very kind hearted and loving to the people she loved and cared about. She was a very hard worker and helped me with anything I needed help with. She would give the shirt off her back to help is she seen that I needed it. She was my dad and my mom and she did an amazing job raising me and making me who I am today. She will be missed and loved forever.
My mom was an extraordinary woman. Very hard worker. My mother was tough as nails. She is a very caring, giving person, everyone loved her. She would take the shirt off her back for anyone. She loved her flowers and birdhouses. She loved being outside and she loved working in her yard. She was a workaholic. She didn't know the word stop or rest. She loved to travel and it wouldn't take her a minute to tell you to get your stuff packed so we could go. She loved to go on cruises." This about says it all and, no other words need to be said.
