Jackie Lee Morgan
Jackie Lee Morgan was born on May 15th, 1932, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Lee Earnest Morgan and Hetta Mae Morgan Sharp. He passed in his home in Skiatook, Oklahoma on December 8th, 2020. He was the oldest of four children, followed by JoAnn, Nancy, and Bobby.
Jack went to grew up in Pryor, graduating from Pryor high school where he lettered in football. He went to NEO A&M in Miami for two years in Engineering, followed by a year and a half at OSU for mechanical engineering, followed by TU and Spartan earning a degree in engineering. Working as an Assistant Director of Engineering at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, the John C. Penafeather, PE for eight years, then became a licensed professional engineer himself.
Jack married Martha Mae Richardson on July 3rd, 1952. From this marriage came three children, Jackie Lee Jr., Jerry Dwayne, and Glen Edward. Martha passed on January 30, 2009. Jack remarried on February 9th, 2013 to Neva Smith.
Jackie Lee Morgan was an avid thinker, engineer, and cattleman raising "Welch Black" cattle breed. There was a time where only seven full blood herds were in Oklahoma. Martha was, at one point a national secretary of the Welch Black National Organization. Due to health issues and retirement, he had to slow down.
He always taught us to, "Do a job or task right the first time, or don't do it at all!"
With the help of his boys, he solved a major HVAC problem that was only discovered by four other engineers in the United States. The CEO and Chief Engineer of the company told him they would send the materials and equipment needed to fix the issue, as well as handle any additional charges.
When he was in the Army Reserves, 4th Army, he was in charge of the Divisions Communications. He fine tuned his equipment every day, so command would come or summon him to their Command Post if they were having problems communicating with other commands. They knew he kept his equipment in "Top Notch" working condition. Retiring as a Master Sergeant, he was qualified for use of a bazooka, flame thrower, M-1 and M-2 carbine, and Thompson sub machine gun.
he is proceeded in death by his parents, Lee and Hetta Morgan; his younger brother, Bobby; his first wife, Martha; and his son, Glen.
He is survived by Wife, Neva; Sisters, JoAnn Walker and Nancy Young; Children, Jackie Lee Morgan Jr. and wife, Amanda Jane, of Claremore, Jerry DeWayne Morgan and wife, Marcia Morgan, of Claremore, Daughter-in-Law Renee Morgan, of Pawnee, six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way.
He taught us about truth, God, country, and hard work. Jack Morgan will be dearly missed.
