Harold Edward McClain
Heaven gained an amazing new resident on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Harold Edward McClain passed through those gates surrounded by his loving family. Harold was born January 3, 1933 and was raised by his grandparents on the family farm in Micawber, Oklahoma. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dad from the heart. Shhhhh, don’t tell his kids, but his grands and great-grands were his favorites. Harold retired from American Airlines in 2000 after 27 years, which allowed him to do the things he loved the most, spending time with his family. His grands and great-grands have fun-filled memories of riding four-wheelers and the tractor with him. Time was the most precious thing he could give, and he gave it whole-heartedly. His daughter Karen said, “you never said you couldn’t do something around him, because he would say “come on”, and he would work with you and make you do it, until you knew you could do it.”
When his kids were growing up, he made sure his family attended church together. Harold spent many, many hours taking his kids to ride motorcycles while he patiently stood and watched, and it was always followed by an ice cream cone. He was their biggest fan, always at ballgames or other events that his kids and grands were participating in. He was a wealth of information and stories about life experiences.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, daughter-in-law Debbie (Moore) McClain, grandson Brian McClain, great-grandson Brady McClain, a sister Linda Beavers and brother Billy Ray Bluford.
Harold leaves behind his wife Melba to whom he was married to for 68 years. His son Harold James McClain, daughter Karen (Ken) Morey, and son Gary (Sandy) McClain. He also leaves behind four grand children, Jeff (Eva) McClain, Kara Morey, Kevin (Katie)Morey and Kristi (Michael, aka “Marv”) Buchmann. Great-grands Jayden, Jessie, Brendan, and Bailey McClain, Aiden, Liam, Audrey and Evelyn Morey, Sofia, Emmie and a very special great-grand who was his constant buddy, Bentley Buchmann, a son of the heart, Patrick (Jamie) Barnett, a daughter of the heart, Terry (Dusty) Traywick, Jacob, Levi, Katie and Sadie Traywick, grandkids of the heart, a brother Charles Bluford, and a sister, Dorothy Mann.
Harold will be missed greatly here on earth, but what rejoicing is taking place in Heaven upon his arrival. Bye for now Sweetheart, Dad, Grandpa, Paw paw, we love you, but we will see you again.
