Hal Tilroy Meek went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2020 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born April 12, 1927 to Arthur and Cecil Meek in Marble, Arkansas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the LSM 439 during WWII. He moved to Oklahoma and worked committedly for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft for 31 years until his retirement.
He married his love Judy Brown and together raised four wonderful children, Donna, Debi, Dee, and Dan. Throughout the years, Hal brought laughter and adventure on family road trips, taught about cars, and loved unconditionally. As the family grew, nothing made Hal more proud than his grandkids and great-grandkids and he loved attending Meek family reunions where he spent time with siblings and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
To know Hal was to love him. His smile, hugs, and warm heart made everyone around him feel welcome and special. He had a love for all food (but ice cream topped the list), cars, and making a deal. Most importantly, Hal loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout his life.
Hal was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Meek, parents, Arthur and Cecil Meek, daughter, Debra Long, and brother, Carroll Meek. He is survived by three children - Donna Adkins, Denise Minadeo, and Dan (and Renee) Meek; 10 grandchildren - Bo (and Amy) Wright, Tony Adkins, Ashley (and Theron) Williams, Shelly Duncan, Dustin (and Kaitlyn) Wright, J’me (and Tyson) Kloberdanz, Chance (and Sunnee) Meek, Britnee (and Branden) Freeman, Ry Moore, Heather (and Aaron) Beck; 21 great-grand children; two sisters, Vicki Ogden and Ina Curtis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Hal Meek will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 at the Rice Funeral Service Chapel in Claremore. Burial with military honors will be held afterward at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m, Tuesday at the funeral home.
