Obituary

Eldena “Dena” Cook, age 78, of Claremore, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

A memorial service will be held, Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore, Oklahoma, with Pastor Michael Able officiating.

Dena was born on August 26, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her parents James and Ruby Dickey. She married her husband Jimmy Cook and together they spent 36 years happily married. Although Dena was not blessed with children of her own, she was blessed with two wonderful stepchildren, Jana Jensen and Rick Cook.

Dena loved her family and church and was involved in the prayer chain. She was a master gardener and involved in many clubs. She was active in the Adopt-a-Cop – Prayer for Police Officers program as well as the Mustang Club and Toy Corral. She was a member and past president of the Desk and Derrick Club of Tulsa.

Dena is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cook; stepdaughter Jana Jensen and husband Rick; step-daughter-in-law Lori Cook; 3 step-grandsons and 1 step-granddaughter; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Dena was preceded in death by her parents James Eldon Dickey and Ruby Dee Dicky, and stepson Rick Cook.
