Donald Lee Spain, Claremore, Oklahoma joined his mother and God on Thursday April 15th, 2021, while in his home at the age of 59.
Donnie was born to Ervin and the late Marcia Spain on April 19th, 1961 in Roswell, New Mexico. He was the second of three children.
Donnie attended Claremore Public Schools, where he was involved in the Zebra Band. In 1979, Donnie met his best friend and soul mate, Ruby (King) Spain. They were joined in marriage on April 19th, 1980 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma. They soon started their family by adding two children. Donnie spent many years as armed security. There was no job he wouldn't do to provide for his family. The majority of his life was spent with his family. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing soccer. His favorite past time was being with his wife, whether working or at home, fishing and gardening. He spent many years coaching Tabitha and Greg's soccer teams and being at every event whether it was sports or livestock shows.
Donnie had a talent and love for playing music, which he passed onto his daughter and also his granddaughters. Donnie's son was his true hunting and fishing buddy. This passion for the outdoors is being passed down to his children.
Donnie never met a stranger. When you walked through the door he was ready with a story, a joke and he always had food ready to share. He loved to write poetry and cook once he was no longer able to work.
Donnie is survived by his wife Ruby Spain of Claremore. His daughter Tabitha Nelson and her husband Jerime, and their three daughters, Alyssa May, Kelsea Helen, and Lindsay Lee of Claremore. His son Greg Spain and his wife Savanna and their three children, Cierra, C.J, and Cooper of Collinsville. His father Ervin Spain and his wife Mary Jane of Lubbock, TX, sister Cathy Hayden of Baird, TX many nieces and nephews and many friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother Marcia Spain who he missed dearly. His father-in-law whom he adored Jack King, sister Theresa Zieglar, nieces Crystal Vannoy and Samantha Matthews, and Nephew Johnny Staton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help his wife at TTCU under Tabitha or Jerime Nelson.
