Daniel Lloyd Rader

Beloved husband, father and Papa, Daniel Lloyd Rader, age 87, of Claremore, Oklahoma, crossed through the pearly gates to heaven on January 16, 2023, at his home with family at his side.

Daniel was born on November 14, 1935, to Jacob and Martha (Horner) Radar, in Claremore, Oklahoma. He grew up in the area and graduated from Sequoyah High School with the class of ‘55.  He married his wife, Katherine Alice Dennis on June 2, 1955. They were happily married for 68 years. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad from 1961 until he retired in 1991.

Dan enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising and training bird dogs. Those who were lucky enough to eat catfish that was cooked by Dan considered him the best catfish cook around. He loved his garden. He loved to give away the bounty of his garden to family and friends. He had a very thoughtful heart and beautiful soul. He enjoyed the lake and skunking his family at fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parent, Jacob and Martha Rader, Lucille Clemmons, Samuel Rader, Ross Rader, Archie Rader, Minnie Burns, AnnaMae Sellers, Zelma Francis, and Earl Ray Rader.

Left behind to honor the memory of Daniel are hie wife, Katherine Alice (Dennis) Rader; daughter, Sherry Means and husband Micky; son, Steven Rader and wife Carla; grandchildren, Mike Means, Chris Means, Corey Means, Alyson Means, Evi Rader and Myles Rader; great grandchildren, Gage Means, Bryor Heidenreich, Dani Means, River Means, and Sage Rader. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
