Claudia Mae Peters

January 9, 1953 ~ November 18, 2020 (age 67)

Claudia Mae (Prewitt) Peters was born on January 9th, 1953 in Moberly Missouri to Roy Franklin Prewitt and Claudine (Perkins) Prewitt. She was the oldest of 7 Children, the family resided in Moberly through most of her childhood.
Through her life she had 4 boys, and 2 stepsons.
Claudia was married and spent her early married life as a housewife. Later, she went to Truck Driving School, and became one of the first female Truck Drivers. After an injury she went back to school and acquired her Associates Degree of Applied Science in 1988. After getting her associates degree she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Rogers State University. After a few years working as an Assistant, she returned to school at The University of Oklahoma and obtained a Bachelor’s degree. And later she worked for Rogers County Sheriffs Office, and David L. Moss Correctional Facility, which led to her long term, and most enjoyed career as an Armed Security Guard. Her security jobs led to so many amazing endeavors with her grandchildren; such as concerts, going to the zoo and other fun and memorable events.
Claudias childhood was not always easy, times were tough, finances were tight, but love was always plentiful. This resulted in a young Claudia who had skin as tough as steel but if you could break through that exterior, you could find her heart of gold. However, when Claudias grandchildren started arriving in her life, her exterior transformed to a soft, caring, loving, grandmother who would do absolutely anything in her power for those children. Claudia had a sparkle in her eyes and softness in her heart anytime she was around her grandchildren or great-grandchildren. In knowing Claudia Peters, you all know that the most important and loved time of her life was when was around her grandchildren. For that reason, from this point on, she will be referred to as Memaw.
Memaws grandchildren remember multiple, multiple, multiple trips to the zoo, she loved the rainforest the best! Memaw also loved taking her grandchildren to the park, and Church on the Move and getting to the church on time with all of the children proved to be difficult to Memaw leading to chaos so Memaw drove like a bat out of hell in the little blue car turning corners on two wheels sometimes. But always arriving on time and safely.
Memaw loved her soap operas, and had a life-long obsession with Dwight Yoakam, including being an active fan club member.
Memaw loved being around her family, being involved with outdoor activities and family gatherings. She also always loved being spoilt with a little bit of luxury to make her feel beautiful.
