Obituary
Carl R. Jones was born October 11, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Sam and Nannie Watson, the seventh child of ten. Carl attended Claremore schools. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard in 1963, followed by transferring to the US Army where he served over 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam as well as in Georgia, Hawaii, Germany, and Lawton, Oklahoma. After the service, he worked in electronics repair in the Claremore/Pryor area and later for Upco in Claremore. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Calvin, Samuel, Pierce, John, Joe, and Charles. He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Hillis and Melissa Phelps of Waynesboro, Georgia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sisters; Donna Maxina Robison and Ruth McBride; brother David; special niece and caregiver Eletha Worley and a host of other nieces and nephews.
