Brian “Neil” Stone was born on March 15, 1974 in Miami, OK. Neil went to his heavenly home after his battle with COVID on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at OSU medical center in Tulsa where he was surrounded by his wife and kids at the age of 46.
Neil grew up in Afton, Oklahoma graduating high school in 1992. As a young man, he accepted the Lord into his heart at the First Christian Church in Afton. He married his high school sweetheart, Laura, in September of 1994. They had their first child, Blake, in 1996 and completed their family with Britani in 1999. In 2001 Neil moved his family to Verdigris after becoming employed at Flight Safety International where he would have celebrated his 20th anniversary this year. He worked as a devoted lead mechanic for the Flight Safety team.
Neil was known for his love of the outdoors and shared his passion with his children. He enjoyed hunting, especially for deer, and also loved fishing for bass and crappie. Seeing his kids catch a fish or harvest a deer always got him more excited than if he were to do it himself. He always made sure that his children thanked God for the harvest(s) of the trip. Neil cherished every ounce of time he spent with his family and would do anything for them. He was a devoted husband of 26 years, a loving father, brother, friend, and son. He was a simple man that didn’t like a lot of attention and always put his family’s needs before his own.
Neil thought he could dance, but no one ever had the heart to tell him that his dance moves just weren’t quite up to par. Anybody that has ever been around him knew that a good laugh was always expected.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Stone and wife Carmoleta; Don Hale and wife Thomasine; father-in-law, Jerry Kropff. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Laura (Kropff) Stone of the home; son, Blake Stone and girlfriend Ali of Claremore, OK; daughter, Britani Stone of the home; Father, Terry Stone and wife Sue of North Port, AL; mother, Joan Edwards and husband Gary of Afton, OK; mother-in-law, Madaline Kropff of Vinita, OK; brother, Reggie Stone and wife Sandi of Monkey Island, OK; brother-in-law, Jason Kropff and wife Christi of Claremore, OK; nephews, Gage and Gavin Stone of Monkey Island, Ok; niece, Madyson Kropff of Claremore, OK, Nikki Sullins and Breanna Shellhorse of Claremore, Ok; great niece Hadley Sullins of Claremore, Ok and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
