Andrea Denice Dudley

June 24, 1969 ~ June 8, 2020 (age 50)

Obituary

Dr. Andrea Denice Dudley (Andy), age 50, passed away Monday, June 8th with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born June 24th, 1969 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Tim and Jean Dudley.  Andy lived in various locations through the years but always considered Claremore her home.

Andy graduated from Catoosa High School in 1987.  She furthered her education by earning an Associate’s Degree from Rogers State College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern State University, a Master’s Degree from Emporia State University, and ultimately her PhD from Oklahoma State University.

She was proud of her Cherokee heritage and during her career served her tribe in various positions throughout the years. Her most recent contribution was as a counseling psychologist for Indian Health Services (IHS), in Anadarko, Oklahoma.  In her position with IHS she had the privilege of working with the youth at the Riverside Indian School which brought her great joy.

Andy loved her family, but her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces held a special place in her heart.  She loved spending time with them, surprising them with gifts “just because”, and supporting them in their various activities.

She enjoyed the outdoors and loved her horse, Boo and cat, Bubba.

Andy is survived by her parents Tim and Jean Dudley; sisters Sandra Tucker and Amanda Huey (husband Shane); nephews Joshua Tucker (wife Samantha), Matthew Tucker (wife Amanda); nieces Samantha Huey and Shaylee Huey; great-nieces Harley Tucker and Harmony Tucker; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Calvin and Edna Dudley and Mike and Tommie Stout; and brother-in-law Joseph Tucker.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 14th from 5pm to 7pm at Rice Funeral Service.  Funeral service will be Monday, June 15th at 10am at Rice Funeral Service Chapel.
